Official netka dojo  www.netka.co

The mission of New England Traditional Karate Alliance (NETKA) is to bring traditional Japanese karate groups together to share knowledge, experiences and friendship. All taught and practiced traditional Japanese karate styles will be welcome to be members and to participate in NETKA. The recognized styles will be Shotokan, Shito-ryu and Wado-ryu.We will be dedicated to preserving the traditional Japanese karate as taught by the original masters, Master Gichin Funakoshi (Shotokan), Master Kenwa Mabuni (Shito-ryu) and Master Hironori Ohtsuka (Wado-ryu).NETKA will be truly non-political. All NETKA members should remain loyal to their mother organizations and are encouraged to remain so. An example of this, if you are a Japanese Karate Association (JKA) member, we want you to remain so in good standing to be a member in good standing with NETKA. We do not want to conflict with your dojo or mother organization. We are not looking for hybrid systems, modernized, mixed or americanized karate. We want you to share your traditional Japanese karate system, knowledge and experiences with other traditional karate practitioners.  We believe in what Master Gichin Funakoshi taught. He said karate must continue to evolve around its traditions and history. He also taught that there is no style in karate, in other words karate is karate. We have limited ourselves to only the traditional Japanese karate systems because they share similar developments and cultural influences. An aim of NETKA is to foster the true spirit of karate and develop local relations between all traditional Japanese Karate dojos in the New England area. We teach a way of life to ensure all members follow the seven principles of Bushido and the precepts of the dojo kun. We teach that Karate is a way of life and not just a passing fad.NETKA aims to provide the highest and most advanced level of traditional karate that can be found in the region. We strive to be a professional, politics-free organization; but at the same time, an internationally recognized and certified organization for both our students and instructors through standardized certification programs and examinations
